Department of Applied Science for Electronics and Materials

Since science and technology rapidly move forward, advanced science and technology as represented by electronics has been increasingly broadened, and comprehensive development and understanding of materials (substance/material), devices (elements), processes thereof (method, step, processing, process of manufacturing and process) are pursued.  Our department aims for cultivation of engineers and researchers with a sophisticated and comprehensive perspective who can be prepared for science and technology.

We certainly expect that you are eager to enter our department to achieve mastery of an expert subject in the conventional faculties and departments such as physics, chemistry, materials engineering, chemical engineering, electrical engineering and mechanical engineering, or their related departments and to challenge advanced study from now on.  Although we introduce the following departments especially associated with our department in the existing departments, people from departments except the following departments are also positively accepted.

Faculties of engineering: related departments of electrical engineering, related departments of electronic engineering, related departments of information engineering, related departments of mechanical engineering, related departments of aeronautical engineering, related departments of chemical engineering, related departments of applied chemistry, related departments of synthetic chemistry, related departments of resource engineering, related departments of materials engineering, related departments of metal engineering, related departments of nuclear power engineering, related departments of applied physics
Faculties of Science: departments of mathematics, departments of physics, departments of geophysics, departments of chemistry
Faculties of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Faculties of Agriculture, others

The normal term of study of graduate school is 2 years for the master’s course, and 3 years for the doctor’s course.  A master’s degree and doctor’s degree can be earned after completion.
